He is able to establish contact with the spacecraft for a bit before glitches occur. Owing to a meteor shower, the radar along with comms on-board Aether are damaged. The Midnight Sky Ending: Is Iris The Daughter of Dr. Augustine?

Towards the end, Sully tells Augustine that he is the reason why she joined NASA. In fact, it ends up that she’s really his daughter, Iris, and that she speaks passionately about K-23 as well; she contrasts it to Colorado.

Juxtaposed with this is the picture of the elderly father and his young daughter around the moon. It is evident that even though Augustine hasn’t met his daughter, Iris/Sully has got the same enthusiasm for discovering new, inhabitable exoplanets.

By the climax, it’s clear that both have borne a generational curse, even if we might call it that. Augustine has dedicated his entire life to the cause, and Iris must now guarantee the survival of most mankind on K-23.

Sure, she’s as devoted as her daddy, but she didn’t ask for this responsibility. However, as far as Sully is concerned, she is thrust into this precarious place owing to the apocalypse. We also do not think that it would be erroneous to assume that Sully’s kid will face significant pressure in the future also.

In the end, going by the advice we get from the film, it is clear that only Adewole and Sully have a shot in a”normal” lifestyle now. Everybody else has already expired or is very likely to expire because of the damaging atmosphere that now envelopes Earth.

The pair will face considerable logistical and technical issues when they actually land on K-23. Even in a best-case scenario, the hopes of humankind are trapped on Sully’s child. It all starts with Augustine, who gave up Jean and Iris since he was focused on his job. (It’s not that he did not love them.

The separation simply appeared to be an issue of priority for Jean, that was not acceptable with him dismissing his family). Finally , he looks at K-23 as an alternative for Earth, and also what are the odds that his own daughter is aboard the trip that goes into the skies?

It appears likely that her daughter, also, will face certain pressures in the future, and therefore, this generational curse is one that will not quit anytime soon.

Who is the Little Girl in The Midnight Sky?

After all, not one of these events would have transpired had not taken on the challenging job of notifying Aether about the plight of Earth. In reality, he even unknowingly conjures a vision of Iris to get him.

(Obviously, she’s that youthful since that was the last time that Augustine watched Iris). Paradoxically, the storyline comes full circle in many aspects. Therefore, the last communication between the dad and his daughter becomes pertinent.

Before we begin this dialogue, we agree that a sense of death looms within the story in the beginning to the end. For this reason, it is not all that surprising every time a character dies.

It is for this very reason he adamantly stays back in the Barbeau Observatory as well as the occasions of the movie kick-off. Not only is he ill, but he must also go to Lake Hazan to warn the returning astronauts. This travel itself is a very tough and impetuous one.

He even loses his medications on the way. So he’s already having a tough time. In our view, it is likely that Augustine expires from the orgasm, and also we believe the final conversation between Iris along him retains the clues.

The Midnight Sky Ending:

You see, since the couple talk what K-23 is like, our displays can also be garnished with a stunning imagining of the way Augustine and Iris enjoy the moon’s milieu (in an alternate universe).

This rendition of occasions only shows the love the father has for his daughter. As Iris explains K-23’s air to Augustine, their silhouetted moves share a beautiful moment when holding hands. However, after a few seconds, the young Iris disappears from the film entirely.

This scene is very important as it reveals that Augustine has finally received some form of closure in regards to his family. In fact, we think he sees his young daughter in the first place because he understands that he is facing certain death.

It’s almost like not being there for his kid is his only sorrow, and in his final moments, he’s attempting to somehow compensate for this. Just towards the end do we find out his head has been playing tricks on him all this while.

When Iris’ picture fades from that clip, it’s because Augustine’s mind can finally rest. With no distress clouding his life anymore, we believe the scientist will succumb to some peaceful sleep.
