Charming Plot Details:

As a result of a penchant for rescuing damsels in distress and an inability to turn the charm off, Prince Charming finds himself in a situation where he is engaged to wed all three princesses — Snowhite, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty.
As the ditsy, simpering princesses sing about just how much they want to create Philippe their”decoration boy,” the man in question goes about the town, charming the hell out of each woman he comes across.
While the feminine half of the populace can’t help but throw themselves at Philippe’s feet, the man half hates him stealing the affections of the wives and girlfriends.
His dad, the King, brings us up to speed when he’d met and married Philippe’s mom, his adoring right hand, Nemeny Neverwish had been heartbroken and incredibly jealous.
Nemeny had turned into a total witch and cursed the baby Philippe with”too much charm” Every girl who looks into his eyes instantly falls in love with him, and for that reason, he cannot tell cursed infatuation from actual true love.
To locate his true love, Philippe has to run the Gauntlet, a pursuit consisting of three impossible tasks. The first is to pass an impassable overhaul, the next is to survive an unsurvivable attack, and the third would be to conquer an unconquerable beast.
And, Philippe and his true romance will have to have a blind leap of faith before they seal the bargain with a genuine love’s kiss. To run the Gauntlet, Philippe accepts the support of Lenny, a self-proclaimed Gauntlet guide.
But unbeknownst to Philippe, Lenny is really Lenore Quinonez, a sure-footed woman thief who had been raised at sea and can be cursed never to fall in love, and so, is immune to Philippe’s irresistible allure.
Lenore has produced a deal with the three princesses’ families which, in exchange for a good deal of gold, she’ll make sure Philippe completes his quest safely.
Charming End: Why is Philippe Being Hanged at the Gallows?
After recognizing that he’s in love with Lenore, Philippe breaks off his triple engagement with Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, along Snowhite. He decides that the only means to halt the curse against taking over the kingdom would be to finish their own life.
So Philippe writes a bunch of letters, all to his bewitched lovers, telling them that he has found his true love and hopes they will discover theirs when the curse is lifted. He apologizes to the townsfolks for disrupting their relationships with his charm and then willingly walks into the gallows to end the curse.
Just as he is going to be postponed, Lenore arrives and saves him. They admit their love for one another and are going to kiss, however, Nemeny Neverwish arrives, enveloping the bunch in a blinding purple fog that they cannot locate each other.
Since Nemeny attempts to kill Lenore, Philippe leaps in front of her (his blind leap of faith) and can be struck by the witch’s murderous spell. Lenore’s tearful kiss of true love brings him back to life, banishes Nemeny, and lifts the curse off of everybody.
Is Philippe Gay in Charming?
‘Charming’ never depicts Philippe as homosexual or bisexual. All the time that Lenore is pretending to become Lenny, Philippe never once looks at him in a romantic way. It’s only after Lenny shows that he’s actually a woman that Philippe falls in love with Lenore.
When we compare these few lackluster, unconvincing romances with that of Disney’s classic Mulan’ (not the exceptionally problematic live-action one), 1 thing stands out Li Shang’s and Mulan’s electrifying chemistry (even when she is faking to become Ping).
It’s widely speculated and usually accepted that Li Shang is bisexual and can be genuinely attracted to Ping and Mulan. The fact that Philippe only viewpoints Lenore as a romantic partner and doesn’t sense anything more than a friendly bond with Lenny creates an unconvincing, rather surprising romance.
We get that this is a kids’ movie, and it cannot be too explicit, however vaguely implying that Philippe is also drawn to Lenny romantically would have worked better for the total story. Why shouldn’t we anyhow be teaching children the concept that real love transcends sex? Food for thought.
