Big Mouth Season 4 Summary

Season 4 of Big Mouth focuses on anxiety, but not the political kind. Anxiety about growing up, finding out who you are, finding yourself, accepting yourself.

In the Great Big Mouth tradition, the show continues to explore human sexuality and everything around it, including racial and sexual identity, love in all its forms, and “The Hughest Period Ever”.

Big Mouth Season 4 also includes some high-concept episodes, but unlike Season 3, where that became the baseline, they’re less frequent here and more well-earned.

An episode set in a dystopian future leads our protagonist, Nick, to redemption in the finale. This new season unpacks important themes in informative ways, like tampon use for the first time, an anthology installment based on “hand stuff,” and the loss of friends and social anxiety.

However, some episodes take even bigger stylistic swings. as if jumps several decades into the future. Big Mouth is a balancing act that works because the show is simultaneously ridiculous as well as extremely realistic.

The show is made for adults, but I’ve said in the past that Kids will really benefit and learn from the stories being told in this show.

It’s never been harder than it is now as these stories become more modern and universal in how they approach groups of people who were previously animated The series was not explored in a way that helps set an important precedent that will hopefully be followed.

That he is part of Nick’s character and is embracing him. In the end, Big Mouth Season 4 is largely about accepting yourself and others, warts and all.

The overall thesis of this season is community and friendship: only when friends come together and help each other are the dangers of Nick Starr, Depression Kitty, and Tito manageable.

Not only does it acknowledge anxiety as a real threat to one’s well-being, but the show also offers a unique portrayal of traits that are often mishandled in the media.

Plus, “Big Mouth” provides a basic understanding of the issue even for those lucky enough to avoid Tito – if they ever want to help their friends, as Nick did.

Big Mouth Season 4 Review!

As intense, grim, and sometimes downright horrifying as the story is, this season’s biggest conflict isn’t the narrative, but the thematic.

Over the course of these 10 episodes, Big Mouth tries to come to terms with his missteps and promises to match the on-screen representation with the behind-the-scenes representation, then guides Nick into not only the story but the fictional future of the world.

Circles back to center. Yes, there is big mouth gross. There’s a lot of jokes about dicks and shit and vaginas and periods. But Big Mouth puts everyone on an equal playing field,

Striking a balance between jokes made for boys, girls, and everyone in between. It also allows us to talk about the human experiences (and bodily functions) that everyone is familiar with.

The show premiered on September 29, 2017, Season 2 arrived on October 5, 2018, and Season 3 hit Netflix on October 4, 2019. Season 4 was slightly delayed due to the coronavirus, which is why it was released on December 4, 2020.

Big Mouth Season 5 has been available in the books for some time now. Back in 2019, Netflix signed a three-season deal for the animated series due to its huge success and it doesn’t look like the streaming platform is going back on its word.

Eventually, the show garnered a pair of Emmy nominations including the award for Outstanding Animated Program in 2020.
