To be fair to the look, some of the fight choreography is spectacular and has a distinct visual flair that gives the show a shiny, polished feel.

Some of the aerial views of the jungle are breathtaking and seeing this astonishing level of visual beauty adds another layer to it which is unmatched by some other fantasy shows on TV.
The level of detail is evident when you compare it to the Shannara Chronicles, for example. However, the show slips where it really matters and it is in its world-building that often contradicts itself and seems much smaller than it should be.
Jason Momoa is the glue that holds everything together and he alone keeps the show from falling apart completely under the weight of his aspirations.
His portrayal as the menacing and blind Baba Voss is impressive and, like his performance in Frontier, is good for adding some depth to his character and effectively doing away with that fanatical casting of a henchman, beefy man.
Unfortunately, the supporting cast leaves a lot to be desired, including twins Haniwa and Kofun, whose character development has little to do with their early curious behavior.
