It is possible that Ultron could not have been defeated, he simply lived in Panopticron, the home of the Watchers, which is out of space and time.
But the moment he entered a timeline to oppose the Guardians of the Multiverse, his actions could be observed by the Seeer, a cosmic being who could see everything that was, and always will be.
The Watcher made this mistake by intentionally placing the Guardians of the Multiverse in a dimension that was empty of life, knowing that their unexpected life signs would catch Ultron’s eye.
They then retreat into the dimension of Ultron’s home, stealing the Soul Stone – and thus forcing Ultron to pursue them. Of course, the last shot of the series shows now-brunette Anne sunbathing in Spain, but that’s to be expected.

But The Watcher nonetheless sent her back with a smile, and Captain Carter soon learns why the post-credits scene revealed the Hydra Stomper — and potentially her long-lost love Steve Rogers (Josh Rogers). Keaton) – is retrieved by SHIELD.
And with that final reveal, what if…? Ended his first wild season. She arrives on a Helicarrier where Nick Fury, Captain Marvel, and Joe are on the U.S.
The Agent seemingly struggles to fight against Loki and his Asgardian army and quickly joins the fray, happy to be back among any version of the Avengers.
For the rest of the Guardians of the Multiverse, their endings are pretty obvious and involve going home to some kind of happy ending. It’s possible we might see Party Thor or T’Challa Star-Lord in some future setting, but for now, we’re happy to leave them.
