Mushoku Tensei Season 1 Review

The first season of the Mushoku Tensei anime series set a new high bar for animation in an isekai series, arguably outperforming its competitors like Tensura: Even more impressive, Mushoku Tensei is the first project from a new animation company called anime studio Bind.

In fact, a new studio was literally created to make this anime. That doesn’t mean they haven’t worked on other anime at all. Studio Bind also helped Studio VOLN with episodes 22 and 31 of the Karakuri Circus anime.

The story revolves around a 34-year-old NEET who meets his death by a speeding truck. When he felt that his miserable life was over, he found himself reincarnated as Rudius the Great in the world of swords and sorcery.

Seeing this as an opportunity to assume his new identity, Rudius embarked on a coming-of-age journey that proved more satisfying, not to mention more sensual, than he had ever experienced in his previous life.

He found tropes that shouldn’t have worked in the real world working like a charm in this otherworldly. Along the way, he meets romantic interests of his own, namely his magical mentor Roxy Migurdia, his childhood friend Sylphite, and his distant relative Eris Boreas Great.

As he found himself progressing in this world, a strange teleportation event displaced a large number of people, including his own family. The season ends with Rudius finding his way home and trying to make sense of all the chaos that ensues.

In Rudy’s mind, he sees himself as the leader, and this burden includes protecting Eris and watching him return home, and recovering Superd’s reputation, as Man-God pushes and Ruizard. Quite asked.

The problem with this is that Eris barely needs any protection because she is a beast. For Superd’s reputation? Well, getting them to do what people fear them, killing things – doesn’t necessarily move the needle.

Add to Rudy is trying to write the narrative as if it’s a manga, where Ruizard appears over time, leading to his death.

What happens in Mushoku Tensei Season 2?

This is when the episode heats up as Rudius reunites with Paul and learns that the teleportation disaster has caused utter chaos in his home village.

Paul and his party are working tirelessly to rescue many people and trace the missing villagers. When Rudius learns of the situation back home,

He tells Paul about his journey from the Demon Continent, and this sets off Paul because he thinks Rudius is the cause of the disaster in his home village. Not showing proper concern for the victims.

Enraged by Rudius’ reaction, Paul begins a fight with him, and the two only stop when Norn intervenes. Anger directed at Rudius
