Dopesick Season 2: Everything you should know!
Dopesick is an American drama miniseries created by Danny Strong in the nonfiction book Dopesick Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company Addicted America by Beth Massey.
The first three episodes of the eight-episode series were released on Hulu on October 13, 2021.

Will Dopesick Return for Season 2?
No, D will not be getting a second season on Hulu. The series was billed as a miniseries, which usually means that the narrative ends within one season. There have been a few exceptions to this rule, but Dopecic is not expected to return.
Since the show is based on a book by Massey, the source material has been incorporated into the series, leaving little or no room for the narrative to continue. The show is unlikely to return for a second season after the November 17 finale.
From the beginning, Dopesic was billed as a limited series. There are certainly instances in which shows originally conceived as miniseries have been renewed after gaining popularity, like HBO’s breakout satire White Lotus.
Dopesick has a somewhat limited ending. The show is based on the 2018 investigative novel of the same name by Beth Massey. And although the TV adaptation features figures not from the book in the order of the play,
Many characters are based on real people and thus have pivotal endings to their stories. It would be difficult to piece together new material to produce a show that covered such a serious and genuine subject, if it was even frivolous.
That said, Hulu hasn’t announced anything in any way. It’s possible that Dopesic could go the route of shows like Fargo or True Detective, which go by the label of “miniseries” despite being more like an anthology.
If greenlighted, perhaps Season 2 could tell a different story concerning a drug crisis or some other big pharma controversy. Not that there is a shortage of them to choose from.
Dopesick Plot Details
Dopesick focuses on the epicenter of America’s struggle to control the opioid epidemic. It focuses on Purdue Pharma and its upcoming new drug OxyContin. As they push for the drug to be used across the country, a backlash against Big Pharma begins.
Dopesick deals with crises from all walks of life, including lawyers, government agents, and executives at Purdue. The timeline jumps back and forth between the late 90s and early 2000s, so while it goes on, there’s a lot of drama along the way.
