Captain Marvel is an upcoming American superhero film based on Marvel Comics starring Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau.
Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Captain Marvel (2019), a continuation of the Disney+ series Miss Marvel (2022), and the 31st film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell, and stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Iman Velani as Kamala Khan, and Teyona Parris as Monica Rambeau.
Is Captain Marvel 2 Renewed?
A Captain Marvel sequel was practically inevitable because Marvel solo films are basically employed as their own potential franchises. The only single film in the MCU that doesn’t have a sequel is The Incredible Hulk,
And that’s due to rights complications with Universal — something that Captain Marvel apparently doesn’t have to worry about. At San Diego Comic-Con 2019,
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige finally confirmed that Captain Marvel 2 is happening, with the development of the sequel officially moving forward in January 2020.
When will Captain Marvel 2 Release?
When Disney shifted the Marvel Phase 4 release dates after Black Widow’s November 2020 delay, it was announced that the sequel would be released on July 8, 2022.
However, the upcoming MCU slate reshuffle sees Black Panther 2 taking over the original July release of Captain Marvel 2. And yet another change has seen those dates move again, with The Marvels now set to debut on February 17, 2023.
Which Celebs are returning for the Cast of Captain Marvel 2?
Captain Marvel will certainly see the return of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers in a story that is expected to follow the current timeline of the MCU, as opposed to living in the ’90s, where the original traces her origins.

There are three other women joining the cast so far: Teyona Parris, Iman Vellani, and Zawe Ashton. Teyona Parris will reprise her role as Monica Rambeau after her character was recently reintroduced in WandaVision.
The actress portrays an adult version of the young daughter of Carol’s combative best friend, Maria. Paris has previously been on Dear White People, Chi-Raq, and If Beale Street Could Talk.
After the actor and character’s MCU debut with the upcoming Disney+ series Miss Marvel, Iman Vellani will play the role of Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel.
How Vellani’s character will be integrated into the story remains a mystery at the moment, but we should have more answers once the show launches in late 2021.
