Emily in Paris Season 1 Ending Explained: What happens with Emily?
Emily is given a surprise promotion. She moves from being a Chicago-based marketer for a pharmaceutical company to a social media manager for the French fashion firm Savoir.
Emily’s boss was Madeline originally to take the position, but she sends Emily to Paris after realizing she is pregnant. So Emily breaks up with her boyfriend and moves her entire life to Paris, where she immediately struggles to fit in.
Without knowledge of the French language or culture, his colleague and his owner Sylvie refer to him as “La Plaque”. He dismisses her American social media strategies.
Emily suffers a PR stunt when she poses at a fashion show wearing the costume of Pierre Cadoult and Gray Space is slammed with paint by a group of controversial designers.
The results are disastrous as the character lands on the front cover of newspapers, inadvertently tarnishing the designer’s reputation, and his boss Sylvie gives him a valid reason to fire him.
To make amends, Emily helps Cadault gets his payback by crashing Gray Space’s fashion show and getting his job back. Not to mention that she leads to a possible romance with Cadue’s nephew Mathieu.

At the end of ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 1, due to the development of Gabriel’s restaurant, he has decided to move out of Paris.
He breaks up with Camille, and it is now night to say goodbye. Emily finally confesses her true feelings, and the two spend the night together. It won’t go anywhere, they promise, refusing to hurt Camille. After all, this is only a long goodbye.
Most of the season centered around the will-they-won’t-they romance between Emily and her downstairs neighbor/local hot chef Gabriel.
After breaking things off with their US-based boyfriend Doug, Emily and Gabriel share a very frank relationship after some awkward apartment run-ins – and they eventually kiss.
However, Emily later learns that Gabriel has a girlfriend, Camille, and the two decide to pretend that the kiss never happened. But as the show has proved to us, it is not going to be a simple and straightforward affair.
At the last minute, aka the morning after, issues with Gabriel’s restaurant come to the fore, and he may be living in Paris. And so, a long goodbye night is now a mistake of epic proportions that Emily and Gabriel won’t be able to justify to Camille.
