JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5 Ending Explained: What happens with Diavolo?
If it is a fight with Diavolo, then the end is to show that he repeatedly challenged fate. The infinite death loop ger punishes him, a continuous dying process where he is powerless to do anything.
For the last 2 episodes. Up until that point, the entire anime/manga crew was overcoming fate through willpower and resolve. At the end of the Diavolo fight, it is set up for it.. but the last 2 episodes show us that in the end, he never overcame fate.
Because Mista defied the stone in an attempt to save Bukeli, fate punished him. Because of this, Abbacio and Narancia also died, as the stone showed.
In the end, the end of the fight with Diavolo showed us that with willpower and determination, as well as staying true to one’s beliefs, one can improve one’s destiny. But the last 2 show us that in the end no one can change their luck.
I know there are some things I’ve omitted, so feel free to fill it in in the comments. If there’s something you think I’m wrong with, tell it and your reasoning in the comments so they can draw conclusions about their belief.
The comparison between Giorno and Jesus Christ is not subtle. He is the son of Dio, or Italian for God, and fights against Diavolo, which is Italian for Satan. He “dies” in his fight against Diavolo when he is stabbed by the hand, only for him to be reborn as a divine being.
It’s just that it sounds like the Christian fantasy that Giorno wants to rule the criminal underworld. It cannot be denied that he is overall positive on Diavolo’s regime, as at least the police will be less corrupt and the children will not be sold drugs.
But it’s also hard to ignore the fact that Passion’s entire power structure is now completely disorganized, thanks to the actions of his group. It’s not just Diavolo’s defeat; The entire massacre squad is dead, Diavolo’s personal guard is gone, new capo spots are available.
The organization can collapse pretty easily now, so Giorno isn’t really a saint for taking the remnants of the passion and putting it back together. Diamond Is Unbreakable is quite different from the Stardust Crusaders to date,
And there are tons of great elements that juggle precariously before the end of this season. Yoshikage Kira is a paranormal villain who is genuinely intimidating, but his developed rules of stance are a bit obnoxious.

That being said, Diamond’s ending Unbreakable cleverly creates a scenario where it seems that the entirety of Morio contributes to Kira’s defeat, right down to the ghost of Remy.
Celebrating the characters of Diamond Is Unbreakable has a slow ending and it seems like the right time to say goodbye to these people.
