Mysterio was a hero in his eyes and J. Jonah Jameson did everything he could to portray Spidey as the villain, leaving the mainstream public divided on his opinion of the webslinger. Some people love him, others hate him.

With the intention of reversing the damage done, Spider-Man visits Doctor Strange and enlists his help in performing magic to fix things. Unfortunately, things soon go awry.

From here, the story opens up as it appears that Spider-Man has bitten off more than he has chewed – especially when familiar faces appear. That excellent lawyer who can grab bricks faster than Spidey is Matt Murdoch, aka Daredevil.

A shocking media frenzy follows, in which Peter and his loved ones are surrounded by criminal investigations and public trials. Spider-Man becomes a divisive celebrity figure, angered by fans and detractors who are angry with him.

He becomes the ‘most popular person in the world’. Weird, considering I don’t remember MCU Spidey being presented as a particularly famous, world-famous person. He was just another hero in a world bursting with them.

The basic premise sees Peter Parker dealing with the fallout of events at the end of Far From Home. His secret identity is known to the public, combined with the small details that he murdered Mysterio.

Now, with a brutal media following after that, the brilliant J. In front of Jonah Jameson, Peter must adjust to a difficult existence that was chased into the uncomfortable spotlight of the public eye.

If you gathered this plot point from the record-breaking trailer, you could argue that it’s not reason enough to warrant Peter’s next decision: going to Doctor Strange and requesting the magician.

To make that everything back to normal. The idea begins as sweet hijinks, bringing to mind the John Hughes-influenced high school fun ‘n’ games of Holland’s first two outings.
