Work began at the end of the year with further casting, before production began in London in February 2019. Filming was confirmed to be completed by June 2019.
Morbius is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 1, 2022, which has been delayed from a July 2020 opening date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Marvel Comics lore, Morbius was a prolific biochemist whose efforts to cure his own rare blood disorder resulted in him gaining powerful abilities along with an insatiable appetite for blood.
He first appeared in the 1971 issue of The Amazing Spider-Man and is the creation of Roy Thomas and Gil Kane – he has the distinction of being the first Spider-Man villain not created by Stan Lee.
