The title is derived from Agent 355, the codename for a female spy for the Patriots during the American Revolution. Chastain proposed the idea for the film while working with Kinberg on Dark Phoenix.

The project was officially announced in May 2018 and the distribution rights were acquired by Universal Pictures at the 71st Cannes Film Festival. The following year, filming took place in Paris, Morocco and London.

During post-production, Tom Holkenborg composed the film’s musical score. After a delay from a January 2021 release, The 355 was theatrically released in the United States on January 7, 2022.

The film received generally negative reviews from critics, who criticized it as generic and uninspired, although the cast received some praise.

The 355 Review: Should you watch the Movie?

355 Agent will not take a deep dive into 355’s history. The film’s main reference for Agent 355 is available in Mace to take the 355 designations, while its team of 5 female detectives conducts comparable operations in a contemporary context.

She begins the film grieving after the murder of her longtime male partner and lover during an assignment in Paris. Worse, he is implicated for showing complicity in a failed operation that has left an all-powerful digital McGuffin in the wrong hands.

The overqualified cast works overtime to pump life into the blank characters assigned to them; Aside from an emotional scene, where Cruz and Nyong’o see their loved ones’ lives in danger, the cast has nothing but performance dumps or technobabble to deliver.

It’s the kind of movie that sums up the big character details and small as 355 vaguely explains the technology. , the drive contains a special decryption program that can access any system. This makes it a fair rival to any gadget seen in the Bond movies.

At one point in the film when the equipment is in enemy hands, it is used to cause power outages and plane crashes across the city. Loose gun CIA agent Mace and company are horrified at what the use of this device might mean, describing a world breaking.
