The Flash Season 8 Ending Explained: What happens with Damien?
In the first episode, it’s not about the quantity of what’s happening on screen, it’s the quality. Despero arrives in Central City with his three-eyed sights set on the Flash, believing he is the catalyst for an unimaginable disaster a decade in the future.
The impressive superhero/supervillain throwdown ensues, with Barry aided by Ray Palmerberry, who discovers what he had set out from reverse-flashpoint, the happy reunion interrupted by the sudden arrival of Damien Dirk.
After proving that he was attached to the Time Stone, Damian sets out to ensure that his daughter Nora will be restored to life in the Prime Arrowverse timeline before she eventually fades from existence.
Meanwhile, the Reverse-Flash attacks the Central City Police Department to take out The Flash, only to come before the future Green Arrow Mia Queen.
Seeing Thawne as a temporary anomaly in this timeline, as Damien is fading, Mia demands to know where her missing half-brother William was before Barry appears, Thawne publicly tells him. He was begging for his nemesis to be saved.
While making the decision, Barry says that Thawne needs to die in order to save humanity from future dangers. Most of the team members support him, but Barry and Iris are called in for discussion by Joe West.

Who tells them that we will not let people die here and Thawane will not die in my watch. Iris tells Joe that Thawne has done bad things and will do them again if he doesn’t die.
Joe explains to them that the suit Barry wears isn’t about killing people, it’s all about how he can save lives and it’s up to them how he should save Thawne. Barry comes up with an idea and shares it with the team.
Oliver and Felicity’s daughter also tells Iris that her only possible clue to find William is the “family pet rock”. Iris suggests that Mia reach out to Felicity for help, but Mia worries that her mother will not understand how long she has gone to find her next of kin.
McNamara says, “Mia has lost William and isn’t necessarily living for the Green Arrow mantle in the way she had hoped—and in a way that she would assume her mother wanted.” “It’s hard for him to face it, knowing how much the legacy means to both of his parents.”
