Reacher Season 1 Ending Explained: What happens with Reacher & Picard?
At the start of the season, Reacher was ready to leave the murders in Finlay’s hands and move on but was forced to stay. He only takes a more active role in the investigation when he learns that his brother is a victim.
However, in the last few moments of the season, a flashback shows Reacher and his brother, Joe at the bedside of their dying mother, Josephine. We boys are having a fight with an older child. Joe collapses, but his mother tells him she always knew it was Jack.
He protected a weak boy because that was his nature, and Joe covered for Jack because that was his nature. Defending Roscoe, Reacher ended up in Margrave. His mission began as revenge, but along the way, he followed his nature to protect someone new.
The screen opens at midnight when a man in his 30s, who is running from a farm, is shot in the back by a skilled marksman wearing a white polyvinyl protective suit. The killer picks up bullets and covers the body with a sheet of cardboard and leaves.
The next morning, retired Major Jack Reacher arrives at Margrave in a Greyhound bus and walks to the diner, where he orders black coffee with peach pie. Before he could be bitten, local County Officer Baker and Officer Stevenson arrived and arrested him for suspected murder.
Roscoe and Reacher shared a moment in the pavilion. He’s the wandering type, and he’s like an insect clinging to a flame. She writes his number for him on the rapper Clark Bar, and they kiss one last time. Reacher then meets Finlay at that dinner.
