Servant Season 2 Ending Explained: How does it set up for season 3?
Lynn is afraid of Josephine and tells Sean that she doesn’t want to be alone with him. When Josephine sits down at the loft with Lynne, she tells him she doesn’t belong here and that the Turner family doesn’t love her.
After this conversation, Josephine tells Dorothy that Lynn is leaving and keeps her promise by giving her the “truth”. She gives him a neatly folded smile. This clearly translates to a message to Dorothy as she is suddenly overcome with emotion.
Dorothy locks herself in Jericho’s nursery. Whether alive or dead, Jericho is still just an infant, so there isn’t much to talk about. An intensely emotional connection develops between Lynn and Dorothy, a young girl from a mysterious background whose maternal wishes remained unfulfilled.
They had moments of awkward intimacy, but their relationship broke down at the end of Season 1 when Leanne learned that Dorothy was responsible for Jericho’s death.
She escapes from the Turner House, and the human-looking Jericho is once again replaced by a lifeless doll. Free Lean describes this turn of events as “a perfect 180”.
She fearlessly changes the doll’s clothes while Auntie Betamax heads up to play the tape, which she calls Leanne’s “last warning.” On tape, a man named Uncle Frederick explains how to bring a lost member back to the light. The ritual is a four-step process, which begins with an invocation.
On the tape, “Tutti Frutti” starts playing, This is followed by anointing, where the members are blinded with oil or a knife. The flesh of each organ must be opened with a hot blade, which body reunites the soul with God.
Then, it is time for salvation, aka burning the body in the raging fire. “When one of us perishes, there is no turning back,” Frederick tells us. Like a psycho. She holds the Betamax tapes that we’ve heard a lot about.

What we get on screen is one last wall of servant dark humor for the season: one from the cult Church of the Lesser Saints Kitschie training video. A mustachioed, grumpy host takes us through a “reunification ritual,”
Which has been re-enacted by him and some very strange members of the church. The first step is invocation. The person performing the ritual has music plays who relives his time on earth, then ruthlessly injures himself.
The subject of the reunion is blinded, then with pieces of their limbs. The pieces are torn off with a hot knife. Ouch. Finally comes liberation, in which the subject is burned and reunited with God. This new dynamic will most likely also play into the budding romance between Lynne and Julian.
These characters were often shown at odds due to Lynn’s aloofness and Julian’s confrontational attitude, but in “Loveshack”, the characters bond closely and have sex over their respective pains.
Julian regrets the encounter, but Lynne wants to continue their casual relationship. The case will test the dynamics of the new family if it comes to light, and could lead to Julian’s relationship with his girlfriend Natalie.
