With Zeta not having complete control over Jordan, a brief window of opportunity arises when Clarke calls on his father. Clark senses in his place and touches down. Face to face with Jordan, Clarke does his best to try and get Jordan through but it doesn’t go well.

Her son slips out of sight to be replaced by Zeta’s red-eyed menace. Without much choice, Clark eventually returns to Smallville. Prior to the finale, it was understood that Edge killed himself when he gave in to Eradicator’s control.

Edge had feared this fate his entire life, which is why he avoided it for so long. Zeta-Rho reiterated that being the Abolitionist meant death when he told Superman that he sacrificed his son.

But as it turns out, Edge’s consciousness was simply suppressed by the Eradicator. Soon after the fight, Morgan Edge is shown lying on the ground telling Clark that he just wants “a family”, prompting Superman to remind him that he may have had one.

Morgan’s Edge kidnaps Jordan and implants his terrifying father Zeta-Rho’s consciousness inside him, begins to transform unsuspecting DoD soldiers into Kryptonian Superman, leaving Jordan to intervene. , while Edge and his new goons run rampant on Smallville.

This is too much of a potential disaster for Superman to handle alone, so he teams up with John Henry Irons to fight Edge, while Lois and Jonathan must work together to save Jordan using a memory device.

Amidst all this, the “Last Sons of Krypton” do not disregard the people of Smallville, who rally around Lana and Kyle as their beloved hometown collapses around them.

Mentally, he defeated Zeta-Ro, which Superman says was extremely difficult when Zod was in it. The fact that he did this makes me think he’ll slowly start to understand how to use the powers he has better and more often, and develop some new ones.

But it turns out that elimination was not part of the plan, initially. Edge, of course, was taking humans and influencing them with Kryptonian spirits and powers, turning them into “subjects”, and was one, in particular, that was going to tower over the others.

“Basically we started having these ‘themes,'” Helbing says. “We were going to build Subjekt-17, but it became very clear that we weren’t going to only do Subjekt 16 in a season.”
